Memorial Service

These past 2 days I have had the opportunity of attending 3 Scouting events. I had the opportunity of attending an Eagle Court of Honor. It was an awesome Court of Honor. The Color Guard was presented by the Marine Corps. I couldn't stay though until the end because it was off to another scouting event.

I attended a memorial service for the father of a good friend. His father was a WW2 veteran. My son was involved with the Color Guard presentation for the memorial service. He was the caller. He did a very fine job.

Today, we went to the graveside service for the same individual. I haven't been to a graveside service since my dad was buried 9 years ago at Arlington in the rain. Josiah was the caller was again and helped 2 younger scouts fold the American flag. It was very touching to see Josiah present the oldest daughter of the veteran with the American flag. It was a job well done. I can say I was very proud of my son as he handed her the flag. The weather was very cold and overcast.
